The Journey Begins...

Our journey to adoption has been one of both consequence and divine guidence. In 2001, after our second round of in vitro fertilization, Vicki gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Our son, Trey, was born on July 13, 2001 and we couldn't have been happier. After 5 years as a 3 person family, we decided to begin the IVF process again. In our initial consultation with our doctor, he asked that we undergo genetic testing. Through a series of blood tests, we learned that both of us carry the gene for cystic fibrosis. Since Trey doesn't have the disease, the statistical probability that another child would be born with CF is greatly increased. Besides this startling revelation, Vicki was not excited about taking 3 shots a day with increased hormones, with side affects of night sweats and mood swings. We decided to begin investigating adoption. We both prayed about adoption and we both felt God leading us to adopt abroad - specifically Russia.

The process began in November of 2005. In mid-August, 2006 we completed the paperwork and as of this writing we are awaiting word of an available child in Russia.
